“The Postman Only Rings Twice brings together two kinds of audiences: the customary audience of the Museum of Communications, who finds themselves accidentally confronted with this exhibition; and the audience who come to visit the exhibition and, in turn, find themselves confronted with the museum. This double motivation for visitors revels the philosophy that Escola Maumaus is putting into practice here: to propose an art that is politically and socially more relevant than that already instituted, and often outside those sites most commonly given to it. Besides its being sited in a museum dedicated to the theme of communications, the exhibition has also spread outside the space originally allocated to it - the room normally used as an art gallery.

Respect for the modus operandi of a site that was not designed to receive art and which would not allow for an installation of the white cube type was considered to be the starting point for the context-specific integration of the works. Because of the choice of these limitations, the pieces exhibited have gained yet another form of legitimization: a legitimization that has an alternative socio-political relevance to that of an art museum.” (Jürgen Bock)
