The artist and the curator in conversation with Ana Balona de Oliveira and Manuela Ribeiro Sanches
Against the backdrop of Ângela Ferreira’s most recent solo exhibition, Indépendance Cha Cha, on view at the gallery Lumiar Cité in Lisbon between April and June 2014, as well as the installation and performance Entrer dans la mine, project curated by Jürgen Bock which Ângela Ferreira presented at the 3rd edition of the Lubumbashi Biennale between October and November 2013 and from which Indépendance Cha Cha was conceived, this conversation with the artist and the cura- tor will address the continuities and discontinuities not only between the two projects, but also between these and several previous collaborations, notably Maison Tropicale at the Portuguese Pavillion of the 52nd edition of the Venice Biennale in 2007 and Hard Rain Show, exhibition on view at the Berardo Museum in Lisbon in 2008 and at La Criée Centre D’Art Contemporain in Rennes between 2008 and 2009. What is the impact of the dynamics of this collaboration on the work of both artist and curator?
